Excalibur Motor Sports, a new and much needed shop in the Twin Cities.

Excalibur Motor Sports opened July 2004.  Owners Kyle and Nancy Wells have a background that makes this a truly unique shop.  Kyle has over 30 years experience in the Motor Sport Industry.  He has wrenched on race teams in Brainerd, worked and managed in shops from here to Florida where his career took another turn.  For 8 years he taught at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Florida.  In 1995 Kyle’s knowledge in the Industry got the attention of Polaris Industries where they recruited him to work at their Roseau location.   He grew in that position and was transferred to the Minneapolis headquarters to become the International Trainer.  Teaching all the dealership mechanics how to work on all the different products that Polaris had to offer.   

A life long dream for Kyle was to own his own shop.  So in September 2003 he & Nancy made the choice to set out on that adventure.  It took a while to get everything together but now celebrating a successful 3rd year in business Kyle and Nancy are glad they made the move.

You will not find another pair like them.  They do everything they can to make sure their customers have the best experience possible.  If they don’t have it they can get it.  If they can’t get it they will have it made. 

The shop which is located in Hopkins just behind the SuperValu Distribution center is a family business with a family atmosphere.  You can expect to see their fierce guard dog named TAZ roaming the grounds.  (shitzu-beagel mix) Beware he may lick you to death.  Garrett their son is a regular fixture there after school and on Saturdays.  Their daughter Kristen isn’t so visible.  But once in a while you will find her working hard to help out.   

Where does Kyle and Nancy see the shop going?  Expansion, expansion, expansion.  They anticipate the growth to continue.  This will mean more mechanics and down the road a larger location.  For now you would do well for yourself to stop in and visit.  You won’t regret it.
